It has been quite a week in Melisseland. Oldest daughter is home from college, which required much bedroom rearranging and teen angst. She is recovering from an illness and doing fine. Am glad to have her home where I can help out.
Then, my beloved dog Baxter broke a leg--a kid on a bike ran over him as we were going into our yard, an out of the blue accident. He's just a little dog and the kid didn't see him, riding fast. Sheesh! I rushed him to the vet, who is about 85 years old. She immediately sedated him, then xrays and a cast. The break was low on his leg and he should be back to his bouncy ball playing self soon.
So my writing was on the back burner through all this. I do think I'll open the WIP tonight, though. Things should be kinda sorta normal starting tomorrow.
I must say my #writemotivation colleagues are doing great!
Also, subbed an out of contract SFR novella to an old editor now at a new publisher. I am waiting on two submissions at this time.
Wow, you've been busy! Grats for getting back on track! You totally got this!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot to keep a person busy! Sorry to hear about your sweet puppy, speedy recovery for him and your daughter!
ReplyDeleteHope your week finds a little more time for you and your wip :)
I think it's perfectly acceptable that you put things on the back burner for a bit. I would have too.
ReplyDeleteHope puppy heals well and you have a great rest of the week.
The waiting game is the hardest part about submissions. Hope you get a couple of contract offers at the end of it.
ReplyDeleteHopefully your daughter is feeling better and your pup heals fast.
Awww, poor puppy! One of my mom's cats fell off a bookshelf several years ago and broke her leg. THAT was an interesting experience, but she's back to her normal self and still climbing up high on the bookshelves. Writing can definitely go on the back burner for a while, kids and dogs take priority (sometimes) :D
