Excerpt, Fantasy Romance!

 In the spring I plan to publish the third story in the Realms of Glister, Bufflindia, Jilted Giantess.

Bufflindia thought her marriage contract to Adler would be signed in the spring, only to find out their fathers had squabbled. Adler's father sent him off to a spring Bridal Faire to bring home a wife. Her mother was eager to find new suitors. Bufflindia decided to head for the mountains and do a bit of mining.

Excerpt: 

Late afternoon, about the time that Harl started to look for a good place to camp for the night, he smelled oatcakes on the breeze.

"Something mells good," Honey said, sniffing loudly.

"Yes, let's go check it out."

A short while later they came into a clearing and there over a griddle on top of rocks surrounding coals was Bufflindia. She was in men's clothing, her hair in along braid. There was a pack of mining tools in a heavy canvas bag leaning against a tree root house. She looked up as he came into the clearing with the gnarlhogs and the cart.

"Greetings, Bufflindia," Harl said.

"Harl, what a surprise." She raised her eyebrows. 

Which were fine, as were her dark blue eyes. The rough men’s clothing she wore were surprisingly attractive on her.

"That mells good." Honey chirped."

"You Bufwini? Me Honey. Me hungwy."

"And you brought a baby buntar," Bufflindia said.  "A miniature of you, except for the feet and ears. And the cuteness."

Harl lifted Honey down from the cart. She stamped a rabbit's foot and said, "I no baby." 

Bufflindia grinned. "Most suitors bring flowers. Maybe wine." She leaned down to Honey. “Have daddy help you wash up in that bucket by the door. We’ll have oatcakes with honey and berries.”

The little girl nodded her head and hopped to the bucket, Harl jumping to keep up. Bufflindia snickered.

Women never snickered at him. They flapped their eyelashes and leaned over, so he could get a good look down their gowns.

He snorted. Bufflindia was not a tavern wench. He’d seen the fortress she’d been raised in. A castle, really.
