Happy Holidays from the SFR Brigade Authors!
Check out the blogs--many giveaways and Holiday Fun!
I love Christmas and the traditions my family celebrates year after year, many of which come from my childhood. My mother was the one who made Christmas happen, with many more details that I do now days!
When I look back on the warm memories of the holidays, I can't remember the gifts, though I got carefully chosen presents every year. Mostly I remember making decorated cookies, fudge, and popcorn balls, which were always a kid project.
I remember my mother's table. She had a pale pink brocade tablecloth and napkins. We polished the silver and Mom got out her cut crystal. Dad would serve us 7 Up in cut crystal wine glasses with a drop of wine in it to make it pink!
I always had a new holiday dress and shoes, something pretty and festive. I miss that, now that my own daughters are in their twenties. No more green or red velvet or lace!
We do still bake, though not as many types of cookies as my mother would bake. This year we are baking cut-out sugar cookies and jam thumprints , with different flavors of jam. Pretty!
