This snippet is from my upcoming release, Starwoman's Sanctuary.

Skyleen wiped tears from her cheeks. There was no time for this now. She had a duty to do.

“Skyleen are you all right?” Kyler called from the other side of the door.

There was no time to erase the evidence of her tears. She dressed quickly in her now fresh robe and left the chamber. Her hair hung down her back in a damp curling mass.

Kyler  grabbed her gently by the forearms.“Skyleen, are you all right? The captain—Coit messaged me he is undressed. Did he hurt you?” Kyler paused looking deep into her eyes. “Rape you?”

“No.” She looked down at his large hands holding her arms in a soft grip. “He planned to but they were having dinner, a celebration, first. They expected the bird man Krishal to rape Arla for their amusement.”

The thought of Arla, now somewhere unknown with a strange being  overwhelmed her for a moment and tears spilled down her cheeks again.

 “Arla is all alone with that strange bird man. I hope she is safe… I didn’t know what else to do.”
