Christmas Cookies in Space takes place during thte events of Stranded on Grzbt, my story in the Pets in Space 6 anthology. The Shen slavers had a brig on their ship, full of captives! One of the captives, Hayley, is a baker from Duluth. She has no idea how she got on the ship.
They are rescued by the Fera Military and sent to a shelter on the planet. Soon after they fall asleep, the shelter is attacked. Luckily, one of the night aids, Soran, helps them escape.
Soran takes them uncle's repair yard on Grzbt. It is the perfect place to hide while they try to figure out what's happening and what to do. A bit crowded, surrounded by ugly broken machinery and a dull gray sky that isn't a sky at all.
Soran isn't dull though. From his cystaline blue eyes to his shining personality, he's a bright light in Hayley's alien adventure.
