His face was expressive, and the look of
fear gave Skyleen a chill. Little Arla could die.
“She could die.”
The small man nodded, teal eyes filling
with tears.
“You have a ship? And can help her?”
“Ya, ya.” He rushed from the room and proceeded
down a long corridor, his wings assisting him as he sprinted with Arla in his arms. Skyleen tore
after him, weapon pointed even though it was not a model she was familiar with.
She had to run as fast as she was able to keep up with the bird man, whose wings
lofted him along several yards for each step.

ReplyDeleteYou know, pointing an unfamiliar weapon, when you're not sure of what fires it or even which is the working end, isn't all that good an idea.
